October 1 – Security on the Web
Phishing, Hacking, Tracking, Finger printing, ransomware and more, are terms frequently seen in the news used to describe security risks when browsing the web. This session will define what these are and some best practices for a safer web browsing experience.

October 8 – Email Security
Learn to identify spam and malicious emails, and explore various ways in which you can control questionable or unwanted messages. Find out what makes a proper email address, how to identify the sites behind the links, and the difference between unsubscribing vs. declaring an email as spam.

November 5 – 3D Printing Basics
Explore the basics behind 3D printing technology. Learn how to use the library’s 3D printer and how to search for and download digital designs online.

November 12 – 3D Printing with FlashPrint
Learn how to manipulate and tweak your 3D print with the Flashprint slicing software used by the library’s 3D printer.

December 3 – Tech Tuesday Special Event: Hour of Code (3:00 to 6:00 pm)
Learn how computer programming works as we celebrate Computer Science Education Week (December 2-8). Drop in between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to learn about computer coding through several hands-on, interactive stations. Staff will also be on hand between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to provide individual assistance with your computer or handheld. Bring your own device or ask to borrow one of ours.

December 10 – Staff’s Favorite Apps 2019
Staff will share their favorite Apple and Android apps and show you how to download them to your tablet or smartphone.
