Program Description

Event Details

Join us on the third Thursday of each month for a presentation on disaster and emergency preparedness hosted by Jefferson County’s Department of Emergency Management (DEM). Each session will focus on a different preparedness topic and provide essential tips and steps to prepare for various emergencies, including winter storms, earthquakes, and tsunamis.

The series begins in January with Elizabeth Bindschadler of NPREP, a Local 20/20 Neighborhood Preparedness action group. Elizabeth will talk about personal preparedness, including what you need to know about hazards in our area and where to get reliable information in an emergency.

Elizabeth Bindschadler has volunteered with the Neighborhood Preparedness (NPREP) team for 10 years. She has focused on providing preparedness information and training to individuals and neighborhood organizers. Prior experience includes being a Girl Scout and Cub Scout/Boy Scout leader, and a 32-year civilian career with the U.S. Department of Defense.
