Join us every third Thursday* of the month for an informative presentation on disaster and emergency preparedness. Each session will focus on a different topic and outline steps to prepare for various emergencies, including winter storms, earthquakes, and wildfires. (*The June presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17, to accommodate the Juneteenth holiday.)

Tonight: Jefferson County Public Health specialist Lara Gaasland will discuss the importance of air quality during wildfire season and the health risks associated with extreme heat and wildfire smoke. She will share the warning signs of heat-related illnesses, discuss the best ways to stay cool in extreme heat, and provide practical strategies for safeguarding yourself and your loved ones from heat and smoke.
