Memberships In Community Organizations

The Jefferson County Library District supports, through active membership and participation, selected civic, business, and library organizations whose purposes are consistent with the District’s mission, values, and goals.

The District benefits from such memberships through increased awareness of community issues and needs, increased opportunities to provide its constituents with information about its services and activities, participation in activities that help meet District goals and objectives, and access to information that assists the Board of Trustees and staff in providing effective and efficient services and programs.

The Board of Trustees shall approve all proposed organizational memberships to be paid by the District and review them annually.

The Library Director is responsible for establishing administrative procedures necessary to carry out this policy.
