Geology and Earthquakes on the Olympic Peninsula

Dann May, Professor at Peninsula College, presents evidence about the landscape of the Olympic Peninsula that reveals the history of a massive earthquake and tsunami that struck the region in 1700. Learn how these destructive geologic forces have shaped the dramatic and beautiful landscape in our backyard. Part of the discussion focuses on the Cascadia Subduction Zone and the geological evidence for the Cascadia megathrust earthquakes that shake our region about every 400 years.
