Cheri grew up in Bremerton, then moved to San Francisco where she lived for 32 years before returning to the Olympic Peninsula in 2004. She and her husband have a small farm in Port Hadlock where they are privileged to steward the portion of Chimacum Creek that runs through their property. They share the property with a variety of domestic animals and an abundance of wildlife.
As a certified nurse-midwife, Cheri’s career has covered the full gamut of reproductive and sexual health services and included employment with the Midwifery Service of Stanford University and the Faculty OB/GYN Group of the University of California, San Francisco. Following her move to Jefferson County, she worked as a midwifery educator, serving as distance faculty for graduate midwifery students at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA until her retirement.
Cheri’s love of libraries has been an abiding passion since her earliest memory. Her interests include gardening, social dance, antiques, reading, music, games and puzzles, movies, writing, organizing, and activism. Her greatest joy springs from being of service to her community.
